Star: Thomas Crone
A Cobb county native, born and raised, Thomas credits his competitiveness and the thrill of serving others to his time at Harrison High School. Opening it as a freshman, the students of Harrison, the new "kid" on the block, had something to prove. While there, Thomas participated and served in leadership roles in the Beta Club, the Rotary Club, and the National Honors Society, organizing and contributing to various drives and outreach opportunities in the community. Still a resident of west Cobb, Thomas spends quality time with his family in service with members of Kirkwood Presbyterian while stepping in at functions where his daughters attend Kemp Elementary.
In joining the Loving Arms fundraising efforts, Thomas is moved by the emotional memories that come from family members and friends fighting cancer, and his mother's service to numerous friends that she would drive to their appointments, take them home, and sit with them in times of struggle and pain. Having lost a grandfather and father to cancer, the shock and fear of the diagnosis has hit home multiple times. They were fortunate to have family nearby during that journey and its struggles. Thomas intends for his efforts as a dancer and fundraiser to have a lasting impact on attendees and Loving Arms as the community gathers in support for others in their time of need.
Lucky for Thomas, in the journey to becoming a Loving Arms "Dancing with the Stars" member, finding his dance instructor was easy. Both daughters attend dance lessons with Kristin Foister at Dance, Tech and Talent, which is owned and operated by her and and her husband Beau. As a lifelong performer in choirs at churches and music ensembles as Georgia Tech and Georgia State, Thomas admires everyone of the participants getting on stage and showing their vulnerability before the audience as a part of supporting Loving Arms' mission. And, as always, Thomas is excited to weave his passion and flair for fun into the event to make a memorable evening for everyone in attendance.
